Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When I pick up my cake how should I travel with it?
A. There are two ways we recommend cakes to travel either held by someone by the bottom of the cake box (NOT the sides!), or on the passenger floor with the seat moved back - this way the cake has a flat surface and wont move around. Please don't be tempted to put the cake on the passenger seat - or any seat as this is not a flat surface and will cause the cake to slide off the board.

Q. How should I store my cake after pickup?
A. Store in the refrigerator until 1-2 hours before serving. Cakes are best eaten and sliced at room temperature.

Q. What size should I choose?
A. Most of our cakes come in 4 sizes and are triple layers in height (tall). Our sizes are Small 6 inches, Medium 7 inches, Large 8 inches, and Extra Large 9 inches. Small serves approx 15, medium serves approx 30, large serves approx 40 and extra large serves approx 55.

Q. Why are your prices higher than my local bakery?
A. At CAKE by Kendyll we do not believe in pre mix or anything that is full of preservatives - which unfortunately is what makes cakes in stores and bakerys so cheap and quite frankly -YUCK! At Cake by Kendyll we make everything ourselves where possible, from the lemon curd fillings, to dehydrated lemon slices cut and dried by hand, to the handmade fondant toppers. We also use only free range eggs, top quality vanilla paste, this is reflected in our pricing and most importantly in our taste. Most of our business is from repeat clients who once they taste our products cannot buy from anyone else.

Q. How far in advance should I book in my cake?
A. As soon as you can! We book out quite far in advance especially around holiday and celebration days, we do have some availability for same week collections so just always email us at cakebykendyll@gmail.com we will do the best to help you.
